2010
- Mr. Zimmer recently provided editorial assistance by evaluating the legal points of Dr. Brenda Russell's new book, The Battered Woman's Syndrome in the Courts. Dr. Russell is an Associate Professor in Applied Psychology and Coordinator of the Applied Psychology Program at Penn State University’s Berks campus. The text book on domestic violence will be used in both law schools and other graduate programs. The book is being published by McFarland & Company and is due out in late 2010.
- Frederick Mogel was elected to the Council of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Family Law Section and was appointed as an at-large member of its executive committee. He was also appointed to the statewide PBA Constitutional Review Commission as one of two representatives from Zone 2 (comprised of Berks, Lehigh, Schuylkill, Carbon and Northampton Counties ).
- Mark Zimmer has been selected the 2010 Chair of the Family Law Section of the Berks County Bar Association following his two year term as Co-chair.
- Andrew George was elected to the Berks County Bar Association Board as a Director.
2009
- Mark Zimmer was recognized at the Berks County Bar Association's Annual Meeting on October 29, 2009, for his outstanding work on behalf of the Bar Association. He was awarded the Presidential Award of Merit for his service over several years as Chair of the Law Day Committee.
- Gene Venzke retired after 36 years at the Pennsylvania Bar, having been associated with the firm since 2006.
- The law firm of Mogel, Speidel, Bobb & Kershner
announces that Jesse A. Kammerdeiner has become associated with the firm.
Mr. Kammerdeiner practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, family law, general civil litigation, corporate and municipal law.
- The Berks County Bar Association recently dedicated the new Kittrell Suite in their building at 554-546 Court Street. The new suite includes an historical look at the Association's past presidents from 1931 through 2009. Six attorneys from Mogel, Speidel, Bobb & Kershner are represented.

34th Judicial District of Pennsylvania.

E. Zimmer has become a shareholder in the firm as of January
1, 2008. Mr. Zimmer practices family law including divorce, custody,
support, protection from abuse and adoption, general litigation and
estate planning.
2007
- As of July 9, 2007, Aaron
J. Bell has become associated with the firm. Mr. Bell
practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, family
law, general civil litigation, corporate and municipal law. Mr. Bell
was formerly an Assistant District Attorney in the Berks County
District Attorney's Office.
- Harry
W. Speidel has retired after 60 years at the Pennsylvania Bar, having
been associated with the firm since his admission to the Bar in 1948.
Mr. Speidel's distinguished legal career focused on serving clients in
the areas of business, probate and real property. He also served as
director of several local business and non-profit corporations
including Eastern Radio Corporation (WHUM), Orr & Sembrower,
Reading Merchant Oil Co., The Wyomissing Club and the Board of Censors
of the Berks County Bar Association. During World War II, Mr. Speidel
served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in China, Burma and India as a
Navigator/Co-Pilot with the 1st Troop Carrier Squadron, 10th Air Force.
Upon his discharge from USAAF in 1945, he accepted a commission in the
USAAF (later USAF) Reserve from which he retired with the rank of
Colonel in 1974 after 32 years of service.
2006
- As of April 3, 2006, Scott
N. Jacobs has become associated with the firm. Mr. Jacobs
practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, family
law, general civil litigation, corporate and municipal law. He is an
adjunct professor with Alvernia College, teaching legal classes for the
Business Department.
- Former
shareholder Paul M. Yatron was elected to the Court of the Common Pleas
of Berks County. He was sworn in to his new position on January 19,
2006. Mr. Yatron practiced in the areas of litigation including civil
and criminal tax litigation. Mr. Yatron is an AV rated attorney.
- As of January 1, 2006, Andrew
S. George became a shareholder of the firm. Mr. George
practices general corporate, real estate, municipal, wills and estate,
and zoning law. Mr. George is based in the Reading office and also sees
clients in the Robesonia office.
- As of January 1, 2006, Gene
M. Venzke has become associated with the firm. Mr. Venzke
practices business, municipal, real estate, wills and estate, zoning
and sub-divisions law.
